Troubleshooting software driver installation issues

ISSUE: The printer software was not installed correctly
CAUSE: The issue might be the result of one of the following conditions:
· A conflict might exist with the computer virus protection program.
· A conflict might exist with another software program.
· A conflict might exist with another peripheral device that is connected to the computer.
SOLUTION: Uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
1. Insert the printer software CD into the computer, click Remove hp photosmart 3210v All-in-One
software and follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall the printer software.
2. Disconnect the printer from the computer by unplugging the USB cable.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Close all applications, including any virus checkers.
5. Connect the printer to the computer by plugging in the USB cable.

ISSUE: When connecting a USB printer cable between the printer and the computer, the "Add New Hardware Wizard" message does not appear.
CAUSE: An operating system other than Windows 98, 2000, Me, or XP,vista is being used, or the USB printer cable might not be working or might not be connected properly. Also, the software might have been partially installed, or an earlier version of the software resides on the system.
SOLUTION: Verify that the computer operating system is Windows 98, 2000, Me, or XP,
vista and then follow these steps:
1. Disconnect and reconnect the USB printer cable from the printer.
2. Make sure that the cable is securely attached to both the computer and the printer. If issues persist, try using a different USB port on the computer, or a different USB printer cable.
3. Insert the printer software CD into the computer, click Remove hp photosmart 3210v All-in-One
software, and follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall the printer software.
4. When the uninstall is completed, restart the computer.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to reinstall the printer software.

CAUSE: The USB connection might not be enabled on the computer. To check this:
1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the System icon.
3. In Windows 2000 or XP, click the Hardware Profiles tab, and then click Device Manager. In Windows 98 or Me, click the Device Manager tab.
4. Click the Plus (+) sign next to the Universal Serial Bus Controller option. If a USB host controller is present and a USB root hub listed, the USB is enabled. If these devices are not listed, see the computer documentation or contact the computer manufacturer for more information about enabling and setting up USB

SOLUTION: Follow these steps:
